When was the last time you had your roof inspected? Chances are it's been a while. Indiana weather is hard on your roof and if its been more than a couple years, you should consider having a qualified professional get up on your roof and take a look around.

Most of the time, roof damage can't be seen from down on the ground. It takes a trained eye to spot hail damage and other potential problems before it's too late and you've got much bigger problems. From a moldy attic to crumbling falling ceilings- A leaky roof can destroy your entire home.

Wind can also damage your roof. High winds can lift and tear shingles leaving your roof vulnerable to water getting in and damaging the roof decking system under the shingle layer through torn out nails. There are thousands of nails securing your shingles to your roof. It only takes one to start issues. What are the odds of you being able to spot it from down in your yard.

Your roof is more than just shingles. There are other components that make up your roofing system that also need to be periodically inspected and maintained to keep your roof in optimal condition. Most people don't even notice whether or not they have drip edge installed on their roof. Drip edge is a metal flashing that is installed at the edge of the roof that helps direct water away from the underlying roofing components and fascia. This can easily be overlooked by an untrained eye and should be inspected. Box vents and flashing around chimneys and exhaust pipes can be easily damaged by hail and should be inspected for damage and security after any heavy storm involving hail or falling tree limbs.

These are just a few of the examples why it is a good idea to have someone inspect your roof before you've got big problems that you have to live under until it is fixed.
